Master Annie An-Pellerin
Master Annie An-Pellerin is a highly accomplished martial arts instructor and athlete with a remarkable 25 years of teaching experience. In 2011 she immigrated from Seoul, South Korea. Master Annie worked briefly at the Brooks, AB Fire Dragon Taekwondo School before settling in Medicine Hat and becoming the owner of the Medicine Hat Dojang.
Annie is a six-time National Black Belt Champion in WT Taekwondo and has a wealth of experience competing at the highest level. Master Annie was also a bronze medalist at the 2nd East Asian Games held in Busan, Korea in 1997 and a bronze medalist at the 2000 Korea Open Chuncheon International Taekwondo Championships.
In addition to her expertise as an instructor and competitor, Annie is also an accomplished coach, having served as the Head Coach of the HPAC (High Performance Athlete Conditioning) Team. Under her guidance, she has produced 10 Canadian National Champion Athletes, further solidifying her status as one of the country’s top martial arts coaches.
Annie’s extensive experience and multilingual abilities (she speaks 4 languages) make her an exceptional instructor and coach who is well-equipped to help students achieve their full potential.
Master Mark Pellerin
Master Mark Pellerin: Taekwondo Luminary in Alberta
Beginning his Taekwondo journey at 12 in Dresden, Ontario, Master Pellerin swiftly achieved his Black Belt by 1978. In 1983, after relocating to Brooks, Alberta, he opened his first school, affiliating with the renowned Grand Master K. H. Min. By 1987, he’d expanded his schools to Brooks, Bassano, and Medicine Hat, where he currently serves as the Head Instructor at the Fire Dragon Taekwondo Dojang.

- Seasoned Trainer: 40 years teaching in Southern Alberta, shaping Taekwondo’s regional evolution.
- Olympic Contender: Competed in the 1988 Olympic Team Trials.
- Pioneering Certification: Among the first non-Korean “Kukkiwon” certified instructors from Seoul, Korea.
- Acclaimed Instructor: Winner of the “President’s Award of Privilege” in Seoul.
- Eminent Ranking: Recognized as Medicine Hat’s highest-ranking Taekwondo instructor.

Master Instructor Dohan Choi
Master Do Han Choi was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1967. At the age of 10 he began to study the martial art of Tae Kwon Do at the Song Dong Tae Kwon Do Academy.
In 1994 Master Choi received his Tae Kwon Do instructor diploma and in 1995 he attended the 3rd Physical Education instructor course.
Master Choi immigrated to Canada in 1997.
In 1998, Master Choi, was certified as a Kyung Dang instructor, a discipline that encompasses 24 traditional Korean arts. On July 3, 2000 Master Choi completed the second class Coach Academy hosted by the World Tae Kwon Do Academy in Seoul, Korea.
Master Choi also holds a 4th Dan in TaeKyon, a traditional Korean Martial Art from which the Taekwondo of today has evolved from.
In July of 2006 Master Choi was awarded his 5th Dan (Degree) Black Belt (Master Instructor) from Kukkiwon (World Tae Kwon Do Headquarters)
Master Choi has also mastered levels one through nine in Kali (Filipino stick fighting), is also black belt level in Nunchaku and proficient with Korean long stick (Bo)
Instructor/Program Director Dakota Cole
Dakota Cole is a senior instructor at Fire Dragon Taekwondo, renowned for his dedication to Poomsae training and his passion for both physical fitness and reading. His commitment to excellence and love for Taekwondo shines through in every class he teaches.
Beyond his role as an instructor, Dakota serves as the go-to person for parents and students regarding administrative and financial matters. His approachable nature and problem-solving skills make him a trusted and respected figure within the Fire Dragon Taekwondo community.
