Master Mark Pellerin

Master Pellerin began his Tae Kwon Do training in 1975, at age 12, in Dresden, Ontario.

The Dojang he attended was a small branch Dojang of the Bluewater Tae Kwon Do School. Bluewater Taekwondo Schools were under the direction of Master Instructor Norm Lepine of Sarnia, Ontario and the supervision of Grand Master Ho Yung “Tiger” Chung of Detroit, Michigan.

After a little more than a year of training, the Dresden Dojang closed and Master Pellerin started to attend the Chatham, Ontario branch of Bluewater Tae Kwon Do. After attaining his Green Belt, at the age of 13, Master Pellerin re-opened the Dresden Dojang, with special permission from his Chatham instructor, Mr Tim Jakubec. and at the same time he continued his training in Chatham and would also train periodically in Sarnia and Detroit.

In 1978 Master Pellerin was awarded his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

In July of 1983 Master Pellerin moved to Brooks, Alberta and by that September he had opened a new branch School of Bluewater Tae Kwon Do. However, in order for Master Pellerin’s students to compete in Alberta, and for Master Pellerin to be able to continue his own progression in Taekwondo, it was nessasary for Master Pellerin to change his Master Instuctor. After visiting all current Alberta Taekwondo Masters Dojangs Master Pellerin decided to affiliate his school with Master K. H. Min in Edmonton, Alberta.

In 1985 Master Pellerin’s School changed its name to K. H. Min Tae kwon do Dojang. By this time Maser Pellerin had schools in both Brooks & Bassano

In 1987 a Medicine Hat Branch school was added after Master Pellerin’s Student, Master Darrell Marsh Sr. became the co-owner of the schools. Master Marsh eventually moved to Ft St John, BC and started Red Dragon Taekwondo.

In 2000 Master Pellerin became a Master in Taekwondo and the school name was then changed to Fire Dragon Taekwondo.

In 2005 Master Pellerin sold the Brooks & Bassano schools to a long time Fire Dragon Taekwondo instructor, Master Do Han Choi. Master Pellerin is currently the Head instructor at the Medicine Hat Fire Dragon Taekwondo Dojang!
