About Us

Fire Dragon Taekwondo, established in 1983 by Master Mark Pellerin, has been a cornerstone of martial arts education in Southern Alberta. With over four decades of dedication, Master Pellerin has significantly influenced Taekwondo's growth in the region. His journey began at the age of 12 in Dresden, Ontario, achieving his Black Belt by 1978. After relocating to Brooks, Alberta, he opened his first school, affiliating with the renowned Grand Master K. H. Min. By 1987, he expanded his schools to Brooks, Bassano, and Medicine Hat, where he currently serves as the Head Instructor at the Fire Dragon Taekwondo Dojang.

In 2011, Master Annie An-Pellerin, a six-time National Black Belt Champion from Seoul, South Korea, joined the Fire Dragon family. Her extensive experience includes a bronze medal at the 2nd East Asian Games in 1997 and the 2000 Korea Open Chuncheon International Taekwondo Championships. As the Head Coach of the High Performance Athlete Conditioning (HPAC) Team, she has produced 10 Canadian National Champion Athletes. Annie's multilingual abilities and dedication to teaching have been instrumental in the school's success.
